Fortunately during these remarkable heat waves we have had two places to escape heat, this summer namely the church and the village hall!! Do hope you have enjoyed the summer whether at home or away and looked after yourselves?
Our hall has been looked after well by those with technical know how, we have some excellent committee members who have helped to install solar panels in the last month, battery in electrics connected and chugging away now in the sunshine. We are awaiting a new pump for the heating and air conditioning unit, always something just like home!!
Thankyou to all who came along to take tea on the 28th June,it was another lovely afternoon and another great outdoor time to meet and chat and be served tea by a hardworking team. This made a comfortable £500 which together with the grand auction made a very healthy few thousand, a pot which will keep the Birmingham university singers coming for a time! Well done to all in the community for making these events enjoyable and very useful to the cause.
On Friday 31st July 15 brave souls braved the heat and hopefully enjoyed the hamnet walk from Dilwyn to Wembley? Unfortunately it was a little longer than expected but most folk enjoyed a well earned lunch at the pub, the crown, after.
